Cereus

A friend of mine invited me to watch this miracle. Cereus blossoms once a year for twelve hours, and this particular plant already did recently. There was another bud, however!

The making of “J’t'aime comme un fou” lipdub

I took this video during our group visit to Montréal. The city’s summer fests don’t ever seem to stop.

La Mauricie National Park (French: Parc national de la Mauricie) is located in the Laurentian mountains in the Mauricie region of Québec, Canada. It covers 536 km² in the southern Canadian Shield region bordering the Saint Lawrence lowlands. The park contains 150 lakes and many ponds. The forests in this region were logged from the middle of the 19th century to the early 20th century. The park’s forests have regrown and contain a mixture of conifers and mixed deciduous trees.

Wildlife in the park includes moose, black bears, beavers and otters. It supports a small number of wood turtles, rare in Canada. The park is a popular location for camping, canoeing and kayaking.

The park is named after the nearby Saint-Maurice River to the east of the park. The Matawin River flows along the west and north borders of the park.

Lake Wapizagonke

Someone said that these hieroglyphs may be as old as four thousand years old. If I understood French correctly, «quatre mille» is four thousand. I am not really sure about the age of these still, but every person here seemed to protect the place by giving zero information about the mysterious message.

Sylvain told Ryan and me about this place on Wapizagonke Lake where there are ancient hieroglyphs left by the Natives on a wall of rock. Not many others wanted to tell us more, because people keep chipping rock pieces off for souvenirs. We did take canoes there later and found the place.
